ABOUT ME
Hi, I'm Cassie!
A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME. . .
Born and raised in Colorado, I am passionate about being a strong voice for change in Commerce City, Ward 3. As a military wife and working mother of three, I'm entering the City Council race committed to ‘elevating voices into action,’ to ensure that the Commerce City of the future continues to be a community my family can be proud of.
I have over 18 years of non-profit program administration and program development experience in the areas of homelessness, domestic violence, mental health and substance abuse. I am a seasoned community advocate with a proven willingness to do the difficult, but necessary work.
My passion and drive come from both my professional and personal experiences. As a single mother at the age of 20, I juggled parenting, college, and a job, receiving both my bachelor’s and master’s degree in social work from Metro State University.
From there, inspired by evidence-based programs that serve to empower the most vulnerable populations, I was compelled to dig even further into the fight to eradicate homelessness. I believe my greatest strength is as a community connector and I strive to use my expertise in the provision of social services to develop and manage impactful community based program. In addition to managing a small business for 10 years, I've dedicated many hours of volunteer time to organizations I believe are making a difference. And as the parent of a child with autism, I know firsthand the realities and difficulties of navigating community resources and the importance of representation.
I truly believe that “neighboring” is a verb and I am committed to doing what is best for the people of Commerce City, Ward 3. I am confident a City Council focused on unifying our neighborhoods, will truly make Commerce City a quality community for a lifetime.
